Amid various initiatives being taken to boost exports from India, GoI has come up recently with an anticipated yet welcoming move of extending SEIS benefit to service exporters till FY 2016-17. The Director General of Foreign Trade, vide Public Notice 3/2015-2020 dated 2 April 2017 has extended the said SEIS Scheme upto 31.3.2017 i.e. for the exports made during the period 2016-2017. The list of services/rate is subject to review with effect from 1.4.2017. All the previous provisions of SEIS including all the subsequent public notices and latest amendments will be applicable for FY 2016-17 also.

SEIS scheme came into existence through FTP 2015-20 as a new version of SFIS to bring clarity in eligibility assessment of services and to improve the usability of incentive by introducing transferability of scrips.
