The Modi-led Government has gone in for a major Secretary level reshuffle involving at least 16 Secretaries of various Ministries.

The major change in the Finance Ministry includes elevation of Revenue Secretary Shaktikanta Das as the new Economic Affairs Secretary.

Mr. Pravir Kumar, Director General of Foreign Trade, has been appointed as Secretary at Interstate Council Secretariat.

In the past, Pravir kumar, a 1982 batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre, served in various departments in the Central and State Governments, which include UP Agro Industries Corporation, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Development Commissioner of Kandla and Dahej SEZs (2010-12) in Gujarat, under Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
