Algerian Govt has directed to all its banks to suspend auto-debit instruction for imports for a list of items from 4th July 2017. This may create problems in payment realization for Indian exporters who have been sending their exports to Algeria even after 4th July without ensuring mandatory compliance already notified.O/o DGFT has today published a trade notice disseminating this information among groups of business associations, trade bodies, Export Promotion Councils, and to every registered exporter. This trade notice clearly mentions that these instructions are revoked only for certain items. List of which is as below:

1. Food Preparation Products (Sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise)
2. Food Products (biscuits, confectionary, chocolate);
3. Industrial equipment such as electrical transformers;
4. Finished marble, finished granite
5. Finished plastic products, household finished plastic products
6. Plumbing Products
7. Carpets In accordance with article 29 of the regulation No. 07-01 dated 09.01.2017, related to rules applied on transactions with foreign countries, the – authorized bank direct debit instruction is compulsory for making transfer/ fund repatriation, clearing of goods.With this trade notice, companies are advised to check if their Algerian clients has completed pre-authorized bank debit instruction formality before 4th July 2017.
