International Trade Disputes

International trade being between the parties in different countries with different cultures, thought processes, quality understanding, Govt rules and regulations may give rise to disputes.

It is in the interest of the parties to anticipate issues that may crop up before contracting, thrash them out, take necessary steps to avoid the same or insure against the same, so as to minimize disputes later on.

Disputes between parties not only lead to unnecessary embarrassments, litigations, loss of time and monetary losses but also loss of future business prospects with the partner. It also leads to a loss of the country’s image and reputation.

The Indian Government has laid down a mechanism to address such disputes in an amicable way so as to create confidence in the business environment of the country. A committee on Quality Complaints and Trade Disputes has been formed to specifically deal with the issues. Actions against erring Exporters and Importers can also be taken in specific cases.

Andees with it’s long experience and understanding of the exim business helps trade in dealing with such disputes. It also represents parties before the Government if the need arises.
